Assalamu Alaykum! (Peace be with you!) I just realized... I haven't talked much about my videos about Sulu in this blog. I have a playlist which you can watch if you are interested in seeing (or maybe visiting?) my dear homeplace. Just check it out here: JOLO, SULU PLAYLIST You can watch this instead: Yup, that is all for today. PS. I am mulling over the idea of transferring my blog from blogspot to wordpress... hmmmmmm
NMC: Feed a Child, Touch a Life Program
Assalamu Alaykum! (Peace be upon you all!)
This post will be more of a full-of-photos blogpost as they say, "pictures can paint a thousand words" :) I will just give a short introduction about it.
Last December 27, 2014 the New Muslim Care Philippines conducted a feeding program and Islamic lecture in BASECO, Manila as part of its "Empowerment Event". NMC Philippines is a Non-Profit Organization composed of dedicated Muslims in the Metro who aims to help the Ummah in simple ways they can, worked hard for the success of the event together with other organizations like
Bangsamoro OFW Organization (BOFWO) and
Philippine Ramadhan Tent Kitchen.
Alhamdulillah, we thank all those volunteers who came to support us even though we have nothing much to give them in return. Verily, the best deed one can give is that good deed without expecting anything in return. :)
Jazakumullahu Khairan and may Allah increase His bountiful blessing upon you and your families. Ameen.
Now for the photos of what happened that day... (PS. there's also a video by the end of this post :)
Volunteers preparing for the activity.

While we took the kids outside to play!
Counting off, and introducing each other to the particpants.
Even the volunteers are participating in the game! haha
The kids taught us about teamwork :)
And having fun! (Searching for their Tsinelas)
Working together to win the prize. and have fun as well
We need to win! Wait who owns this shirt?
Longest line, you say?
After the exhausting games.. Everybody wins! yeaay!
Who's this, a Muslim Santa Claus?
Just kidding. Peace!
Meanwhile, Ustadz Ahmad Javier is giving lectures to the parents.
Look at that approachable smile

Joining Muslim Doctors (MD) for a Tuli Mission Alhamdulillah, a few days ago, a good friend of mine told me that the young medical students from Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Medicine (ADZU-SOM) were here in Manila for a surgical mission. Their group was known as the Muslim Doctors (or M.D.). I went to visit them that day and to my delight, they invited us to join their event last May 1, 2016 at Mahabba Islamic Center in San Andres Bukid, Malate, Manila. I immediately informed the members of UP-Association of Muslim Students (UP-AMS) and Alhamdulillah, 5 of them volunteered to join me. I learned later on that another friend and fellow medical student from another school will also join. First meeting with the MD team I was on ER Duty the night before, and honestly I did not get much sleep before the event. But Alhamdulillah, I was not feeling that sleepy maybe because of the excitement! I met with my members right after my duty and went to the venue where w...
By Ahmad Musahari Free lance Writer anakiluhmd@gmail.com What is the use of knowing the history of other countries if you don't know your own country's? This is my sole impetus of studying little by little the almost-forgotten history of one of the magnificent Sultanate of all seas: the Sulu Sultanate, my homeland of course! But even though my few researches have only reached few results as well, I am still nevertheless excited to share what I have discovered; small pieces of puzzles are parts of a big picture. This blog is about one of my great adventures in finding the remaining historical landmarks in Sulu (even us Tausugs never knew it was there!) Join me, lets explore once more and find out where the smallest WALLED CITY is! (PS: as you can remember, I have blogged about the "Moro Consciousness week" wherein I promised to fill in the entry about the 'walled City' in Sulu. And here it is: a promise is still a promise ;-) link ==================...
[Helpful for: LU3 and LU4 (1st and 2nd Year)] Assalamu Alaykum! (Greetings of Peace!) We will jump from the topic on “lectures” to one of the dreaded yet fun type of exams: the Kodachrome exams! This was supposed to be in the later part but knowing the schedule of the exams is already near, I have to push this post up the schedule in hopes of it to be of use somehow. Disclaimer! I am not the best guy to give you these tips, but because no one is doing it, then what’s the trouble of doing it instead? Haha! So what is a Kodachrome exam? This one goes back in time immemorial when medstudents are still using the real kodachrome machine where pictures of specimens (usually tissues) will be projected on a white screen. (In LU4, you will experience using a real kodachrome machine thru Dr. Dimacali’s lectures in pathology :D). Nowadays we are using the overhead LCD projectors with the ever-so-convenient MS Powerpoint presentations where digital copies of the specimens wi...
