New Things in a new World

After almost a week of trying to "blend in" with this new society I am living with in Zamboanga, certain (and really sudden) changes had to take place; be it in my personal ways of living life to the places I go to. And now that I finally had the time to sit down and write or blog about this new adventure I have, sharing it with the world is the first thing I wanted to do!

1) I HAVE A NEW ROOM slash HOUSE slash OFFICE slash PHOTO-GALLERY
Yup, you read it right!  I have finally found a good, and comfortable place to live in--or rent. I am now staying in ALLIAN COMPOUND, BULAHAN DRIVE, SAN JOSE ROAD, ZAMBOANGA CITY. Anyone looking for me, you are always welcome... (specially sa mga magpa-sign ng autographs, biro lang). And yes, I have a number of plans for my room-slash-and-so-on, kasama na dun ang gawin etong isang small GALLERY ng mga ARTS and WORKS ko... I just need to settle some problems and reapir/clean the room muna.

2) I MISSED MY SHARES. I missed my 2-cups, 1 viand share (of food) for 3-meals ni ate Nono. Ang mahal ng Pagkain dito. hindi ko pa kasi kabisado lahat ng kainan, esp. yung mga mura. therefore, I have to search and destroy! este, decide san ako permanently kakain. Wala pa akong mga Gamit sa bahay like rice cookers, so temporarily sa mga karenderya muna ako. And nah! ang mahal sa city, mabubuhay na lang ako sa McSaver Meals ni tsong Mcdo. (ayan, nag-advertise na ako. sana may bayad yun. hehe)

3) the FOREIGN LANGUAGE. Cosa? Quando? Dios mio!
After conquering the world of MERANAO Languange, here I am, lost in a new world of ENCHANTING CHAVACANOs. Españole como este señior? Ewan ko lang kung tama ba yan. I never wanted to get lost in this new place, therefore I have a new challenge to take: LEARN CHAVACANO! yeah! Moi bien!

4) GRABE KA-INIT DITO. Well, not all the times naman. But from the first five days of staying here, tagaktak na pawis ang naranasan ko everytime pag-uwi. Kahit gabi. So i had a new schedule na naman ng Pagligo: 3x a day na eto. When I was in Marawi kahit 3days walang ligo Oks lang! (I'm not kidding! ganyan kami sa Marawi, Malamig kasi eh, tsaka sayang yung Tubig... palusut mode)

5) IGIB-IGIB tuwing gabi. isa pa sa mga nadag-dag sa daily sched ko bukud sa maligo araw-araw (na hindi pa ata ako sanay), ay ang mag-igib ng tubig. Iisa lang kasi ang 'source of life' namin sa bahay, kaya you need to 'igib to survive! Alhamdulillah, malapit lang naman sa room ko. So para wala akong ka-agaw by next morning, nag-iigib na ako the night before I sleep (ang sweet noh?). Sabay tingin sa langit habang naghihintay sa balde ko na mapuno ng pagmamahal. :-)

6) NEW FASHION. Ang trend ng fashion sabi nila ay uma-ayon din sa panahon, uso at seasons. Well, the hell I care with that. So long as nabubuhay ako, kahit ano suutin ko, ok na (PROUD MSUan to!). Pero hindi talaga maiwasan kailangan mung magbago at umayon sa agos ng buhay...

Thanks to Sherfa (Yheng) who gave me a loving gift na nagamit ko talaga for the first few days I had in Zamboanga. Its a brown "piys'/ scarf. and I really love it. especially pag mainit ang araw, or ma-alikabok sa daan. araw-araw ko siya dala. (Labhan ko lang some time, hehe) Thanks dang!

7) And lastly, NEW FRIENDS to meet. marami-rami din akong kakilala dito sa Zamboanga, esp. from my highschool friends na andito ngaun. Pero dahil ako ay maninirahan dito sa isang taon, i need to find and meet new friends. this will be some new experiences. Excited:-D

MORE NOTICES:
1) I have changed the URL of this blog from www.anak-iluh.blogspot.com to www.anakiluh.blogspot.com. BIG CHANGE, huh? isang 'dash' lang naman tinanggal ko. marami2 rin kasi nalilito dahil dun. This might cause some problems sa mga dati kong readers, but I hope it would be ok pagdating ng panahon. Pls be guided...

2) I am also publishing the FRONT COVER of my PHOTO-BOOK, entitled "SULU 24/7: The undying dreams of the sea". InshaAllah, mapublish din eto. Just showing you the PREMIERS and/or TRAILER kung baga. hehe.

Sulu Hidden History: The remnants of Sulu Parula (Parola) -part 2

From an American-built lighthouse to a Tausug-built Masjid. The search for the missing “Eye-Fall tower” did not take me long to finish for three reasons:  I already know where to look for it (the wharf in Jolo);  The people in that community are pretty friendly; and  The Sulu National Museum gave me all the answers.  What I just did then is visit the place and confirm the site where it still stands now, talk with the people around, link the stories and tadaa! Mission accomplished! And so, ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present to you all, the Sulu Parula (Parola), then and now… The Sulu Parula (Parola) and the  Block House This is one of the oldest photos linked to our missing structure: the Sulu lighthouse, commonly known to the locals as the “Parula”. The May 1 Tuli Mission

Joining Muslim Doctors (MD) for a Tuli Mission Alhamdulillah, a few days ago, a good friend of mine told me that the young medical students from Ateneo de Zamboanga University School of Medicine (ADZU-SOM) were here in Manila for a surgical mission. Their group was known as the Muslim Doctors (or M.D.). I went to visit them that day and to my delight, they invited us to join their event last May 1, 2016 at Mahabba Islamic Center in San Andres Bukid, Malate, Manila. I immediately informed the members of UP-Association of Muslim Students (UP-AMS) and Alhamdulillah, 5 of them volunteered to join me. I learned later on that another friend and fellow medical student from another school will also join. First meeting with the MD team I was on ER Duty the night before, and honestly I did not get much sleep before the event. But Alhamdulillah, I was not feeling that sleepy maybe because of the excitement! I met with my members right after my duty and went to the venue where w
