Image
Assalamu Alaykum! (Peace be with you!) I just realized... I haven't talked much about my videos about Sulu in this blog. I have a playlist which you can watch if you are interested in seeing (or maybe visiting?) my dear homeplace.  Just check it out here: JOLO, SULU PLAYLIST You can watch this instead:      Yup, that is all for today.   PS. I am mulling over the idea of transferring my blog from blogspot to wordpress...  hmmmmmm

Last 50 days of Internship

Image
Internship ends in a few days (July 1 to be exact) and since March 22, we started the #Last100Days of Internship countdown. Those who are following my Instagram account would know that I have been posting random pics with the countdown numbers (see above photos). I tried my best to complete the 100 days but it was just so hard! haha. And now, who would have thought that we are now down to the last 50 days! It happened so fast! I can't even believe that the ten months of internship--no, the FIVE YEARS in Medical School is about to end! SubhanaAllah!  I do not even know what to feel right now. Should I be excited, because everything's about to end? Or should I be anxious and scared, because... well, because the daunting future that lies before me is certainly scary! Still, as I keep on recounting the remaining days of internship, I just can't help but look back... those enume...

Internship in Ophtha

Internship Day 1 to 14 Weeks 1 to 2 From July 1 to 14, 2016 The sign at the back of SOJR: The setting for this awesome two-week rotation! Allowed to be removed when on ER/Ward Duty. Duties: Two posts: One Ward Intern-on-Duty (WIOD) and one ER Intern on Duty (EIOD) from 7AM to 7AM the next day. How often? Depends. We were 10 in our block, and there were only 2 interns on duty per day, so we have 5 pairs rotating “duties” every 5 days. So chill! True Posts? Nope. But post-duties can go home early (12noon) if allowed by consultants/residents. SIC work: Only WIODs do the SICs of 12-20 patients in th...

The Road to Internship

Image
"How do I prepare myself for Internship year?" I once asked my senior interns during the last few days of my clerkship (4th yr) in UP-PGH.  "Haha! You don't! And you can't! You only have what, 2 or 3 weeks of 'vacation' after your exams and tadaa! Internship comes without you having enough time to prepare for it!" one of them said. "Just go and attend. That's all." another intern told me matter-of-factly, followed by a solemn tap on my shoulder and a 'you-just-have-to-do-it' look into my eyes before she left.  But one of my good friends and now a full-pledged physician working in Zamboanga perhaps got the best answer to this question:  "Internship is just like Clerkship all over again. Maybe twice the length for some major departments, but it's less the stress than what you had last year in clerkship. It will be easier than you think because you have already done this before...What makes it harder is th...
